Case studies / Opinion Shoppers
Launching a customer feedback startup, from the first page to the sign-up
Opinion Shoppers lets businesses collect instant feedback at the moment of purchase, straight from their payment terminal or a customer’s phone, and alerts managers the moment a rating goes wrong. In 2018 it was a new business with no website.
The situation
Opinion Shoppers was being built from scratch, and its website had to do the selling. The product is easy to use but not obvious to explain: a survey that appears on a Clover, Ingenico, Verifone or AEVI payment terminal, or on a phone, and sends an SMS alert to a manager before an unhappy customer posts a bad review online.
Its buyers are merchants of every size, from coffee shops to large retailers, each using different hardware. The site needed to explain the idea in seconds, show it working on their own equipment, and turn interest into sign-ups.
What we built
- A WordPress site that explains the product in four steps: sign up, collect instant ratings, analyse results in real time, take action
- Clear pricing by platform, with plans for Clover, Ingenico, Verifone and AEVI terminals and for web and mobile
- Pages for each supported platform, so merchants can see it working on the hardware they already own
- Embedded video demonstrations showing setup and use
- A detailed FAQ answering platform-specific setup questions
- A multilingual setup, so the product can be presented outside the US
- Ongoing maintenance since launch

Where it stands
Launched in 2018 alongside the business itself, and maintained by us since. The site carried the product from idea to a working offer with published pricing across multiple payment platforms.
What this is an example of
Launching a technology product whose value is easy to use but hard to explain, where the website has to make the idea click before a merchant will sign up.
